Abstract: 9 pages in length. What happens to a person's body when alcohol is consumed precludes the operation of any equipment -- especially an automobile -- but one of the very influences is that the person thinks he or she still has the ability to drive. Most anyone who has been drinking and has been asked to hand over the keys argues that he is fine or she is not drunk. Watching them stumble out the door is evidence enough that what they think and what is reality are two completely different things. The writer discusses the various influences alcohol has on the body, as well as offers some sobering statistics on fatality rates. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
