Economics of World Aviation

Abstract: A 6 page paper discussing the aviation industry in terms of economics. Globalization has affected all facets of the aviation industry. Use of the Internet and technologies such as videoconferencing have reduced the need for much business travel that formerly was required, and declines in usage already have been noted in the US where such technologies are more widely used. US aerospace companies dominated in years past, but a result of globalization of business is not only that there are more international travelers, but there also are more international suppliers as well. Airbus directly competes with Boeing. The OECD predicts that industry declines will be greatest in the US, but that it will decline worldwide through the first years of the new century. Bibliography lists 9 sources, and the paper includes an abstract and a one-page summary.
