New York City Draft Riots of 1863

Abstract: An 10 page research paper that describes, discusses and analyzes one of the bloodiest riots in the nation's history, which occurred in opposition to the draft that Lincoln instigated in the middle of the American Civil War. The writer argues that the causes leading up to the incident and the effects afterwards continued to be prevalent, affecting the politics, economics, and social structure of New York.
