Prejean/Dead Man Walking

Abstract: A 3 page essay that analyzes the motivations of Sister Helen Prejean in her autobiographical account of her ministry to death row inmates, which records how she stood by men such as Robert Lee Willie who were guilty of despicable crimes. Examination of Prejean's account shows that she was motivated by her deeply held religious faith. Prejean's ministry draws not only on scripture and the words of Jesus Christ, but also on her own personal perspective of the Divine. Bibliography lists 1 source.
