Curricula Design and the Impact on Gay and Lesbian Students

Abstract: This 21 page paper considers the different approaches to sex education and the impact that these programs have on gay and lesbian students. This paper focuses on the use of curricula that are affirming of the sexual orientations of gay and lesbian students and the impact this has on reducing incidences of violence, including hate crimes, against these students. This paper suggests that the use of these programs supports the academic success of gay and lesbian students through this positive model. Bibliography lists 13 sources.
